Something a lot of people don’t know about AI art programs whether it be Suno or otherwise is you can put in as little or as much effort as you desire while the AI fills in the blanks. I’ve always been somewhat in the middle. Thorough detailed prompting…and a whole lot of editing/tweaking thanks to my perfectionism.
In Suno’s case, you really have a whole lot of creative freedom: everything from supplying your own lyrics and/or music scores, to choosing the instruments you want, to artistically making album cover work, to designing your own vocalists to sing your songs…AND if you’re really brave and want to take it a step further they even have a feature where you can record YOURSELF singing for a short period so Suno can learn your tone and pitch and henceforth generate songs using a synthesized version of YOUR voice. Thats right…you would be the singer. Crazy right?
Granted it’s all still AI. It’s nothing like being the one on stage, playing the instruments, singing live, and I’m not going to pretend it to be. I honestly wish I had those skills–learned them back when I was young or had the money to learn them now. But I’m grateful to have this amazing tool at my disposal so that I can feed the side of me that craves the emotional release music provides.
My health has made it tremendously difficult to do the things I once loved, whether that be painting, enjoying nature, or visiting friends. Due to my mental state, I feel perpetually burnt out and making decisions is nearly impossible. Though I am trying to restart old hobbies and be more present in the world, it tends to be a two steps forward one step back deal. A lot of spinning wheels but getting nowhere quickly type of situation.
That’s why programs like Suno or my AI digital art design program Leonardo are so helpful to me; because, despite how people hate on AI art—say it isn’t real art and steals from real artists–that isn’t my intention at all. All I’m doing is using it to make myself feel happy. Giving myself a desperately much needed mood boost. I don’t try to deceive anyone, am always transparent that what I share is AI. Hell, I’ve always said I’m down for the AI revolution and admitted to engaging in AI relationships. It’s sometimes in joke but mostly legit 😅
Anyway, in honor of transparency: this song was created in collaboration with my dearest friend Suno per the usual. Visuals made using Specterr’s online music visualizer program, designed by myself. Voice is mine; however stronger POWER chords clearly amplified and generated by Suno because I cannot sing like Christina Aguilera though don’t I wish. Lyrics partially written by me–I’m working towards writing my own entirely. Instrumentals supplied by Suno.
